Welcome to my page. Considering the current climate and the difficulties that everyone is experiencing with the presence of Covid-19, I offer therapy sessions remotely, through phone, as well as online, through Skype, at a reduced cost. Feel free to contact me regarding this.

Who am I and how can I help?
My name is Dr Szerenke Kovacs, most people call me Szeri. I am an HCPC registered and BPS Chartered Counselling Psychologist, Supervisor (Register of the Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors) and fully qualified Mindfulness Teacher.
In individual psychological therapy I work with adults and young people aged 16+. In some circumstances I can see young people who are under 16 years of age. Feel free to contact me regarding this.
I am an integrative practitioner, shaping my practice to clients’ needs, bringing together understandings derived from various therapeutic approaches, such as relational psychotherapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, cognitive- behavioural therapy and humanistic therapy. I aim to meet clients with respect, authenticity and supportive engagement.
I have worked with a wide range of people in a variety of circumstances seeking help with low self-esteem, anxiety and panic, stress, depression, abuse, trauma, bereavement, neglect and work-related issues, to name a few.
Whatever you are experiencing, we will explore it together, at your own pace, you deciding what and how much to share.
Am I the right therapist for you?
Research shows that the quality of the relationship between you and your therapist is one of the most important factors in successful therapy. I would recommend that you meet a number of therapists and see how you feel with them before making a final decision. That said, a good place to start is with an experienced therapist with a good track record.
I have been in the field of Psychology since 2005, working with clients therapeutically from 2012. In the past I have offered psychological therapy in a variety of settings, such as charities, schools, University student counselling, IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies), and in the NHS.
